Operations Supervisor / Safety Coordinator Mississauga
Huntsman is seeking an Operations Supervisor / Safety Coordinator supporting the Manufacturing Division located in Mississauga. This position will report to the Plant Manager.
Job Scope
This role is responsible for executing and overseeing the daily and weekly production plan ensuring safe efficient and high-quality operation of the manufacturing facility. The position supervises production quality control and shipping/receiving personnel ensuring compliance with safety regulations improving plant processes and maintaining strong operational performance. The role also includes responsibilities as the site Health & Safety Coordinator driving Zero Harm initiatives and ensuring full regulatory compliance.
In summary as the Operations Supervisor / Safety Coordinator you will:
Operations Responsibilities
Supervise coordinate and schedule Production Quality Control and Shipping/Receiving teams.
Assign tasks based on production needs and workforce capabilities.
Train motivate and evaluate team members to ensure high performance.
Implement efficient operating procedures and ensure adherence to company standards.
Ensure compliance with safety regulations and correct potential environmental or safety risks.
Oversee quality standards troubleshoot equipment issues and maintain inventory levels.
Collect and report production data support maintenance planning and assist in operating budget tasks.
Take a hands-on approach to help the production team meet and exceed output requirements.
Health & Safety Responsibilities
Lead the sites Zero Harm program.
Complete environmental reporting for the facility.
Deliver health and safety training and ensure compliance with regulations.
Conduct internal audits and hazard assessments.
Maintain WHMIS program MSDS documentation and required emergency preparedness plans.
Ensure availability of required safety equipment.
Collaborate with managers and contractors to ensure compliance with safety standards.
Provide health and safety information and guidance to employees.
Qualifications
You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates.
The candidate must have an unrestricted right to work for Huntsman in the United States.
Minimum Qualifications
Education Required:
High School Diploma required; a technical engineering or related degree is a plus.
Experience Required:
Proven experience as a production supervisor or similar role.
Experience in a production or manufacturing environment.
Knowledge of manufacturing equipment and processes.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and ERP systems (SAP preferred).
Skills and Knowledge

Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and make effective decisions.
Knowledge of ISO 9001:2015 quality systems.
Ability to train staff and promote a safety-first culture.
Understanding of process improvement principles (Lean Six Sigma).
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with Lean Six Sigma or other process improvement methodologies.
Additional certifications related to safety or operations management.
Working Environment
Typical manufacturing environment.
Exposure to hazardous chemicals.
Ability to walk stand and lift more than 50 pounds.
Ability to wear a breathing mask and work around chemicals.
Requires climbing stairs lifting overhead bending and performing repetitive movements for extended periods.
