Job Profile Summary
The Sonographer operates imaging equipment and software mostly ultrasound equipment to assist in the diagnosis and treatment of patients. This role requires proficiency in operating imaging equipment ensuring patient safety and maintaining high-quality imaging standards. The Sonographer position also requires a strong commitment to patient care technical expertise and collaborative communication with patients and healthcare professionals to provide optimal care.

ELIGIBILITY FOR INPATIENT SHIFT DIFFERENTIAL

Education: Graduate of an accredited school of Sonography and completed required clinical hours.

Experience: One (1) year of relevant experience

License: State licensure may be required depending on the specific state of practice.

Certifications/Registrations: ARDMS/ARRT/CCI and 2 applicable advanced registries/certifications within the applicable work area; Basic Life Support (BLS)

In the state of Arkansas American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography-Registered Vascular Technologist (ARDMS-RVT) OR Cardiovascular Credentialing International- Registered Vascular Specialist (CCI-RVS) OR American Registry of Radiologic Technologists-Vascular Sonography (ARRT-VS) is required

Preferred Qualifications:

Preferred Skills Knowledge and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of protocols and ability to make adjustments as needed.

  • Knowledge of safe & proper machine operation.

  • Knowledge of machine emergency procedures and radiation safety procedures.

  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow complex instructions.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced collaborative environment.

  • Flexibility to handle multiple tasks and adapt to changing priorities.

Physical Requirements:

Position requires the ability to push pull and/or lift 50 lbs. on a regular basis.

Position requires prolonged standing and walking during each shift.

Position requires the ability to grip reach bend kneel twist and squat to perform duties

Loan Repayment Assistance Program up to $20000 Lifetime: The Imaging Loan Repayment Assistance Program provides financial support to our Mercy Imaging co-workers in a 24X7 hospital based eligible position who are in a .4 FTE and above working 32 hours or more per pay period. The program offers monthly payments made directly to the loan servicer up to the amount of $370 per month and up to $20000 for a lifetime maximum.
