Job Summary
*** Adult Psych RN Nights & EOW 36hrs. *** Unit Name: Epstein 5 Adult Unit Description: 30-bed unit adults ages 18-65. We treat patients with diverse types of mental health issues (anxiety depression suicidal ideation schizophrenia bipolar disorder borderline personality disorder dual diagnosis patients: Detox here on the unit while treating mental health issues) and some medically acute patients (IVs CPAPs Wound Care diabetic care).Years of Experience Required: 2 years minimum of inpatient adult psych Sets Required: Proficient in using automatic medication dispensing system (Omni Cell); proficient in the use of psychotropic medications and side effects. Able to assume the role of charge nurse; able to complete admissions and discharges. Competent in the use of IV pumps and care of diabetic to Patient Ratio: 1 RN to 7 or 8 Population: Adults ages 18 to 65 Count: (Charting System): Required: Shifts Required: Yes for Day Rotate (7a-7p 11a-11p & 7p-7a). Rotation is not required for Night Required: Active Massachusetts RN License. AHA Information: AVADE training offered on-site as well as lead EKG training. Knowledge of the Massachusetts Department of Mental Health rules and regulations. Rights of inpatient requirements related to restraint and seclusion legal statuses. Knowledge of laws pertaining to guardianship healthcare proxy (invoked vs confirmed) and court ordered Medication.
