Federated Co-operatives Limited (FCL) is hiring an Ag Safety Advisor on a permanent basis on our Ag Solutions team.

This position is a remote opportunity with preference for candidates based in Saskatchewan.

What youll do:

  • Communicate regulations and best practices to Local Co-ops; provide compliance guidance and support emergency planning requirements for Transport Canada and Environment Canada.
  • Offer technical advice verify workforce safety competencies manage timesensitive compliance updates and collaborate across CRS teams regulators and industry partners.
  • Gather and share critical data to meet licensing regulatory and emergency response needs.
  • Develop and deliver operational safety and regulatory training for Agro facilities including anhydrous ammonia trainthetrainer programs; train CRS personnel in operational and safety programs related to Agriculture Warehousing Standards Association (AWSA) and Ammonia Code requirements for all lines of crop supplies and fertilizer operations.
  • Communicate and ensure adherence to best practices for handling anhydrous ammonia.
  • Lead annual emergency practice requirements and coordinate triannual audits for the terminal safety program.
  • Serve as Technical Advisor from FCL and Local Co-op Anhydrous Ammonia Emergency Response Assistance Plans and Environmental Emergency Response Plans.
  • Train Tier 1 and Tier 2 emergency personnel at local Co-ops for Anhydrous Ammonia emergency response.
  • This role will require approximately 40% travel throughout Manitoba Saskatchewan and Alberta.

Who youll work with:

The Team: You will work closely with and report into the Manager Ag Safety and the Fertilizer Terminal teams along with Ag Solutions personnel. This team strives to provide technical expertise knowledge and best safety & operational practices to local Co-ops.

The Collaborators: You will work closely with the Ag Solutions team and local Co-ops across the CRS on matters of safety sustainability compliance training and workplace regulations.

Why it matters:
Our Agro team helps to feed and grow Western Canadian communities by sourcing and distributing products and services to local Co-ops in the feed crop supplies and fertilizer business.

Who you are:
You are looking to further your career in Health Compliance Safety and Ag Operations and:

  • Have 5-7 years of experience intechnical safety regulatory or compliance pertaining to Agriculture. A strong understanding or experience infertilizer and crop supply productsindustries including Anhydrous Ammonia product is required.
  • Have a University Degree in Agriculture (a combination of relevant education and experience may be considered).
  • Agriculture retail operations experience is considered an asset.
  • CRSP and/or CHSC designation is considered an asset; relative training courses in safety emergency and regulatory systems is preferred
