Job Summary

Requirements:

You should have:

  • a Masters degree in Science Nutrition Public Health Epidemiology or an equivalent field
  • preferably additional certification and knowledge of Good Clinical Practices (GCP)
  • at least five years of experience in managing research projects or clinical trials including data analysis and report writing
  • strong understanding of research principles concepts methods and practices
  • strong mathematical analytical and research skills with solid computer literacy
  • excellent interpersonal written and verbal communication skills in English and Urdu
  • willingness to travel and work in community or rural field sites
  • high integrity strong research ethics and the ability to work independently and collaboratively.

Introduction:

The Outreach and Research Programme of the Department of Paediatrics and Child Health has ten community-based field sites across Pakistan (including four in Karachi) and focuses on research for the betterment of women and child health. The Department has a Nutritional Research Laboratory as well as an Infectious Disease Research Laboratory that cater to the needs of its research projects. It has well-acclaimed work to its credit both at the national and international level.

Responsibilities:

Specific responsibilities include to:

  • supervise project activities and ensure implementation of study protocols from fieldwork to data management
  • maintain quality control and foster productive relationships with project staff communities collaborators and stakeholders
  • develop and track project milestones identifying risks action items and required decisions
  • conduct mixedmethods research design experiments collect data analyze results and refine research approaches
  • oversee and monitor all field activities ensuring compliance with policies and timely participant followups
  • provide training to study staff in line with research protocols and study requirements
  • manage data quality through proper documentation archiving and QA/QC plans
  • contribute to scientific publications presentations grant writing and related research documents
  • prepare and submit study progress reports and collaborate on monthly project reporting
  • develop highquality research proposals for funding agencies and support new research initiatives
  • manage resources effectively and resolve fieldrelated technical or administrative issues
  • travel nationally and internationally as required by the project.
