Learn more at Medical Director Lumateperone provides strategic and operational medical leadership across evidence generation evidence dissemination external scientific engagement and therapeutic area and product training. This role is accountable for the end-to-end integration of Lumateperone evidence strategy with scientific engagement ensuring consistent high-quality scientific exchange across internal and external stakeholders. The Medical Director serves as a medical leader partnering closely with Clinical Operations Medical Communications Field Medical Affairs and Learning & Development to advance the scientific value differentiation and appropriate clinical use of Lumateperone with a strong focus on primary care provider (PCP) engagement.

Key Responsibilities:

Integrated Evidence Generation Plan (IEGP) & Study Responsible Physician

  • Lead the development and execution of the Integrated Evidence Generation Plan (IEGP) for Lumateperone in alignment with overall medical and product strategy.
  • Serve as the US Medical Affairs Responsible Physician providing crossfunctional clinical leadership and oversight across protocol design safety evaluation and data review for selected studies.
  • Ensure evidence generation addresses key clinical questions and unmet needs relevant to both PCP and specialty audiences while highlighting the differentiated profile of Lumateperone.

Integrated Evidence Dissemination Plan (IEDP) Strategic Planning

  • Own the strategic development of the Integrated Evidence Dissemination Plan (IEDP) for Lumateperone.
  • Partner with Medical Communications HEOR and cross-functional stakeholders to ensure timely impactful and compliant dissemination of Lumateperone data.
  • Ensure scientific narratives are consistent evidence-based and aligned with evolving data and external medical needs.

External Scientific Engagement Strategy & Execution - PCP Omnichannel Focus

  • Collaborate with Field Medical Affairs to develop and execute the scientific engagement plan and build strategic partnerships with Thought Leader Liaisons.
  • Develop and execute an external scientific engagement strategy for Lumateperone with a strong emphasis on omnichannel PCP engagement.
  • Serve as a key medical expert in external scientific interactions ensuring balanced compliant and data-driven dialogue.
  • Collaborate with Field Medical Affairs to translate HCP insights into actionable engagement strategies and refine scientific messaging.

Therapeutic Area & Product Training

  • Act as the primary medical point of contact for internal Learning & Development (L&D) ensuring appropriate assignment of medical subject matter experts to meet scientific training needs.
  • Support ongoing education of medical and cross-functional teams to enable confident consistent scientific engagement.

Requirements

Education

  • MD DO PhD PharmD or equivalent advanced scientific degree.

Experience & Skills

  • 8 years of experience in Medical Affairs Clinical Development or a related role within pharmaceutical or biotechnology organizations is required.
  • Experience in psychiatry or neuroscience medical affairs is strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated success leading a clinical/scientific cross functional team is preferred.
  • Firm understanding of United States health care systems and customers is required.
  • Domestic Travel of 20-25% may be required.
