About You
You are an experienced learning and development professional with a strong background in health safety and wellbeing education. You bring demonstrated expertise in designing and delivering engaging evidence-based learning solutions that build capability support legislative compliance and positively influence behaviour. You have experience developing contemporary learning content across digital blended and face-to-face formats and are confident using learning technologies and platforms to create accessible scalable and consistent training. You are skilled at translating complex health and safety requirements into clear practical and learner-centred resources for diverse audiences including staff students researchers and contractors. You are a collaborative and forward-thinking leader comfortable working with subject matter experts and stakeholders across academic and operational environments. You bring strong project management communication and continuous improvement skills and are motivated by creating learning experiences that meaningfully contribute to a strong and sustainable safety culture.

To be successful in this position youll have as a minimum:

  • Proven experience in instructional design adult learning or learning and development (within safety compliance or technical content areas).
  • Strong understanding of health and safety principles legislation and best practice in a complex operating environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to translate technical information into engaging learning experiences.
  • Experience using e-learning authoring tools LMS platforms and multimedia content creation tools.
  • Excellent communication writing and facilitation skills.
  • Strong stakeholder-management skills and the ability to work collaboratively with diverse groups.
  • High attention to detail strong organisational skills and commitment to quality and continuous improvement.

Please Note: Appointment to this position is subject to passing a Working with Children and National Police Check.

The Health Safety & Risk (HSR) team is a team of strategic professionals providing outstanding client focused proactive and effective solutions and services for all RMIT staff. Our success is achieved by understanding our business and operating as a business partner to our clients. We deliver responsive innovative and practical solutions and services. The HSR team operate in a manner that supports the RMIT values and achievement of the business objectives. By providing tailored quality services and products and ensuring a high level of expert support and advice the HSR team will enhance College/Portfolio and Groups ability to meet their business objectives. This in turn will allow the University staff to better support the current and future student population at the University.
