Synergie Australia is seeking an APS5 Procurement and Contract Officer for a trusted Federal Government client within the Business Operations Branch in Canberra.

The important parts:

• Pay: $58- $62 per hour Super Duration: 12 Month temporary contract potential for further 12 month extension
• Hours: MondayFriday 37.5 hours per week Flexible work arrangements considered
• Location: Canberra ACT

What you will be required to do:

Youll support the delivery of strategic procurement and contract management activities within Open Arms ensuring compliance with the Commonwealth Procurement Framework and contributing to high-quality business operations.

• Develop and review procurement artefacts under direction
• Support tender processes including evaluation of submissions in line with Commonwealth Procurement Rules (CPRs)
• Contribute to the preparation of recommendation reports and evaluation documentation
• Manage medium-risk contracts including governance risk performance and financial oversight
• Develop contract documentation and contract management plans
• Review and process supplier invoices in accordance with procurement policies and financial delegations
• Identify and resolve invoice discrepancies
• Maintain procurement registers and contract records using systems such as TechOne
• Prepare contract variations and exemption requests
• Provide secretariat support to contract committee meetings (agendas minutes action tracking)
• Interpret and apply government procurement and contract management policies
• Develop reports briefings papers and correspondence
• Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders

To be successful in the role you will:

• Demonstrated understanding of the Commonwealth Procurement Framework including the Commonwealth Procurement Rules
• Experience supporting approaches to market and tender evaluations
• Experience administering or managing Commonwealth contracts
• Strong analytical research and problem-solving skills
• High attention to detail with the ability to manage competing priorities
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a small team
• Experience using Microsoft Office Suite (Word Excel PowerPoint)
• Australian Citizenship (mandatory)
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Baseline Security Clearance
