The Trauma Nurse Clinician is a key role in resuscitation and coordination of all aspects of the care of the trauma patient including clinical care in initial trauma activations serving as a resource person for staff communication with the families communicating with referral facilities organizing care amongst the sub-specialist physicians while assuring movement through the system. Implementing continuous performance improvement measures to ensure optimal trauma care is provided. Performs duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with our mission values and Mercy Service Standards.

Position Details:

Education: Graduate of an accredited registered professional nursing programLicensure: Is personally responsible for obtaining and maintaining a current RN license within the hiring state and/or compact licensure in which nursing duties are performed and must meet all state board of nursing :Three years of clinical patient care experience in Emergency Department ICU EMS or Flight :Must obtain TNCC within 6 months of hire/transfer. Must obtain ACLS/PALS within 3 months of hire/ Knowledge and Abilities: Must have excellent communication skills. Work well with minimal direction. Have extensive knowledge of the Health System as well as knowledge of trauma. Serve as a resource to staff families and physicians. Have the ability to defuse stressful situations and handle multiple tasks. Good problem-solving skills as well as being resourceful. Working Conditions Mental and Physical Requirements:Ability to deal with stressful situations. Standing/walking for long periods of Qualifications:Education: Bachelors degreeLicensure:Experience:Certification/Registration: TCRN CEN CCRN Skills and Knowledge: Trauma Registry Knowledge Excel knowledge
