Job Summary

Essential Functions
Provide on-site athletic training services for all intercollegiate teams which includes Mens and Womens Basketball Mens and Womens Soccer Mens and Womens Outdoor Track & Field Mens and Womens Cross Country Mens and Womens Wrestling and Womens Volleyball. Regularly attend practice and training sessions to assess the needs of student-athletes. Monitor and maintain a comprehensive program to maximize the health and safety of all student-athletes through a scope of care that includes injury prevention injury care and rehabilitation. Recognize evaluate and assess athletic injuries by obtaining a history of the athletic injury inspection and palpation of the injured part and associated structures and performance of specific testing techniques related to stability and function to determine the extent of an injury. Provide treatment rehabilitation and reconditioning of athletic injuries through the application of physical agents and modalities therapeutic activities and exercise standard reassessment techniques and procedures commercial products and educational programs in accordance with guidelines established with a licensed health care provider. Work effectively and collaboratively with athletic training staff all head and assistant coaches on campus medical providers and community medical providers including specialists to coordinate and provide appropriate care and management of ailments and injuries commonly affecting student-athletes. Act as central point of contact for coaches and medical providers regarding proactive care prevention and post-injury care. Conduct Concussion Baseline Testing pre-participation physicals and return to play clearance. Operate a training room/facility that is professional clean safe and welcoming for all student-athletes; develop and maintain Athletic Training Room hours policy procedures and scope of practice in compliance with local state and federal laws including but not limited to HIPAA and the Drug Free Schools and Communities Act ( DFSCA ). Maintain necessary and appropriate confidential medical records; document injuries and manage as appropriate maintain records for individual student-athletes as well as referrals to on and off campus medical partners documenting follow-through with treatment recommendations. Be prepared for any traumatic injuries and seek additional assistance through emergency first responders for treatment or transport to hospital. Administer CPR / AED /First Aid when necessary and follow Blood Borne Pathogen procedures for blood spills and procedures for bodily fluids. Coordinate facility needs with the Associate Director of Intercollegiate Athletics. Maintain a system for tracking athlete information and utilization and provide seasonal reports by sport and by gender as required by record and reporting requirements for the department. Prepare budget recommendations and manage fiscal transactions related to athletic training in accordance with college policy and procedure. Assist in managing the inventory of athletic training supplies including purchasing and requisition. Perform duties and responsibilities in accordance with NAIA Official & Policy Handbook Emergency Action Plan and Medical Policies and Cascade Conference Guidelines. Consult with and work under the technical direction of the designated medical personnel. Assist in educating student-athletes about ethics and conduct as members of Evergreens intercollegiate program. Participate in continuing education and professional meetings and network with other medical professionals. Participate in departmental staff meetings and represent the department in meetings committees and workgroups. Partner with Student Wellness Services to maximize the health of student-athletes through on-going prevention and outreach efforts including facilitating access to primary insurance. May perform other duties as assigned such as assessing training or related department needs and resources and subsequently managing modifications and implementation.

Minimum Qualifications
Masters degree. Certified Athletic Trainer Licensure in the state of Washington or ability to obtain licensure within three months of employment.
