Job Summary
Foundry Maintenance Engineer ensures maximum uptime safety and efficiency of heavy industrial casting equipment through proactive maintenance troubleshooting and repairs. Key responsibilities include managing PLC systems hydraulic/pneumatic repairs developing preventive maintenance schedules and supervising or performing hands-on repairs on critical machinery.
Key Responsibilities and Skills
Preventive/Predictive Maintenance: Developing and executing schedules to minimize unplanned downtime which often leads to costly bottlenecks.
Technical Troubleshooting: Diagnosing issues in electrical mechanical hydraulic and pneumatic systems including PLC programming (Siemens/Allen Bradley) and schematic editing.
Equipment Specialization: Working on furnaces conveyors robotic pouring units sand systems and molding machines.
Safety and Compliance: Enforcing rigorous safety protocols (Lockout/Tagout PPE) and ensuring compliance with occupational safety regulations.
Project Management & Improvement: Recommending equipment upgrades managing spare parts inventory and leading continuous improvement initiatives.
Common Requirements
Education: Bachelors degree in Mechanical Electrical or Maintenance Engineering.
Experience: 2 years of experience in heavy manufacturing preferably in a foundry casting or metallurgical environment.
Traits: Hands-on approach ability to work in high-heat environments and flexibility for on-call or emergency shutdowns.
