The Opportunity at Komodo Health:

As the VP of AI you will be the visionary architect leading Komodo Health into its next era of innovation. You will lead a world-class team of engineers and data scientists to scale our AI infrastructure specifically driving the evolution of Marmot our generative AI platform designed to transform complex healthcare data into highly accurate enterprise-grade insights. This role requires a unique blend of deep technical mastery in LLMs and a Product-First mindset ensuring that our AI capabilities are not just experimental but are revenue-enabling tools that solve the most difficult data integration and intelligence challenges in the industry. You will be responsible for setting the vision for how we use AI to iterate research and deliver better work across the entire organization.

Looking back on your first 12 months at Komodo Health you will have accomplished...

• Defined the AI North Star: Established a multi-year AI strategy and roadmap that aligns with our mission to map the worlds healthcare data ensuring Komodo remains the industry leader in AI-driven intelligence.
• Scaled Marmot into a Global Standard: Led the technical expansion of our generative AI platform moving from initial feature releases to a high-scale environment that accelerates feedback loops and automates complex analytical workstreams.
• Built a Reflexive AI Culture: Fostered a high-performance team culture where AI-enhanced workflows are the standard empowering teams to use Generative AI as a natural part of their process to deliver better work faster.
• Secured Strategic Alignment: Partnered effectively with the C-Suite Product and Sales leadership to ensure our AI infrastructure directly supports our most critical commercial outcomes and platform efficiency goals.

These are the essential job duties you will be responsible for...

• Lead the AI & Machine Learning Org: Direct the end-to-end development of AI-powered tools ensuring they are built with technical rigor and scalability.
• Drive Generative AI Innovation: Own the integration of Large Language Models (LLMs) and NLP solutions to extract deep insights from our Healthcare Map.
• Architect Automation-First Security: Apply judgment and creativity when working with AI understanding its limitations while ensuring compliance and data integrity across all models.
• Act as a Strategic SME: Serve as the primary technical advisor for senior stakeholders translating complex AI concepts into clear decision-ready reporting and strategy.
• Champion Cross-Functional Integration: Partner with Engineering Data Science and IT teams to ensure AI tools are naturally embedded into our core data-linking and normalization processes.
• Optimize Speed-to-Insight: Strategically employ AI to improve the speed clarity and creative output of our analytical deliverables reducing manual drift.

What you bring to Komodo Health (required):

• Technical Visionary: Extensive experience leading AI/ML organizations within B2B SaaS or high-scale data environments with a proven track record of scaling revenue-critical platforms.
• Generative AI Expertise: Hands-on experience with LLMs prompt engineering and the deployment of AI-enhanced workflows at an enterprise level.
• Advanced Quantitative Reasoning: Deep understanding of data science classical statistics and the nuances of complex data ecosystems.
• Masterful Storytelling: The ability to distill complex AI concepts into actionable business insights for non-technical senior executives.
• Leadership & Mentorship: A hands-on service-oriented approach to leadership with a history of building high-performing collaborative teams in fast-moving environments.

Where Youll Work

Komodo Health has a hybrid work model; we recognize the power of choice and importance of flexibility for the well-being of both our company and our individual Dragons. Roles may be completely remote based anywhere in the country listed remote but based in a specific region or local (commuting distance) to one of our hubs in San Francisco New York City or Chicago with remote work options.
