Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA)
Position Type: Permanent .8 FTE
Location: District Wide
Reports to: Student Services
Salary: $30.00 per hour
Position Summary:The Franklin Public Schools is seeking a .8 Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA) for the District. Must be very knowledgeable about the special education process and school-based therapy. Successful candidate will work collaboratively with the school-based team to provide direct individual and group therapy and consultation.
Qualifications::Current and valid license with Board of Allied ProfessionalsPublic school experience preferredMust successfully pass Criminal Offender (CORI) background check and national fingerprinting screening (CHRI).Responsibilities:Provide occupational therapy services to students by direct or consultation to address range of motion sensory strategies and techniques fine and gross motor activities as related to IEP goals under the supervision of a Registered Occupational Therapist (OTR).Document data into the Individual Education Plan (IEP) through the use of district information technology systems. Maintain progress monitoring systems. Consult and collaborate with teachers and teams by suggesting ideas for classroom interventions.Train paraprofessionals as needed. Prepare and plan for groups or individual sessions. Collaborate with OTRs on a regular basis. Attend OT/PT professional learning meetings.
