To provide camp support for the Verizon Innovative Learning (VIL) STEM Achievers program. The VIL program is a STEM enrichment program for students in grades 6-8. The program begins with a summer immersion experience and then offers one full workshop day in the fall and one in the spring for additional STEM learning. Essential duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Supervise and participate in camp-wide programming activities with campers
Work cooperatively with other program staff to ensure campers safety
Building relationships with campers by showing compassion empathy and understanding
Prepare classroom equipment and instructional materials for instructors
Help instructors maintain up-to-date records of student progress attendance and behavior
Lead lessons in place of an instructor as assigned
Attend program meetings and training
Assists with additional program duties
Knowledge
Must possess the required knowledge and be able to explain and demonstrate with or without reasonable accommodations that the essential functions of the job can be performed.
Intermediate computer skills

Preferred Work Experience

Has a desire to learn more about STEM.
Experience delivering lessons leading discussions and/or laboratory experiments.
Required Education
Experience as appropriate working with the level of students being taught OR
Associates Bachelors or Masters Degree in education or related field
