Job Summary
Newman University is seeking a handson servicedriven Director of Facilities to lead the care maintenance and longterm stewardship of our campus. This role blends strategic oversight with active ontheground work ensuring our buildings grounds and infrastructure support a safe welcoming and missioncentered environment.
What Youll Do
- Lead daily facilities operations and perform handson maintenance when needed
- Oversee safety compliance and riskmanagement practices
- Guide emergency preparedness and afterhours response
- Manage capital projects renovations and longterm planning
- Direct budgeting purchasing and resource management
- Supervise and mentor a dedicated facilities and grounds team
- Partner with campus departments to provide responsive solutionsfocused service
What Were Looking For
- Progressive experience in facilities operations maintenance or related trades
- Strong leadership communication and problemsolving abilities
- Handson technical skills (HVAC electrical plumbing carpentry or similar)
- Ability to manage vendors budgets and complex projects
- Commitment to supporting Newmans Catholic mission and inclusive community
- Experience in a campus multi-building or hospitality environment
- Preferred: Bachelors degree in facilities management construction management engineering business or a related field.
