POSITION FUNCTION:

The Employment Services Advisor provides a wide range of services including case management support of client employment aspiration assessment of client employability and financial needs development of an action plan and follow up with client until a successful job attachment outcomeand may include group facilitation and job recruitment.


DUTIES OR RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Organize and deliver group sessions and Facilitate Workshops
  • Client intake services
  • Assess potential clients program eligibility for the program
  • Case Management
  • Conduct client needs assessment (CNA) and employment support services including work experience skills enhancement job search and job sustainment
  • Building partnerships with employers community agencies and other stakeholders
  • Assist clients to navigate between programs and services
  • Maintain update and enhance curricula materials as appropriate
  • Maintain working knowledge of local labour market trends community resources the needs of job seekers and employers effective ways to bridge their respective needs and current business sector protocols and procedures
  • Document client activities in the program data base


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A post-secondary certificate degree or diploma in a relevant field with appropriate combination of course work and experience in employment counselling adult education (e.g. career or employment development vocational rehabilitation social work psychology sociology human services counselling education or human resources management) or appropriate combination of training and experience
  • One to two-years experience conducting and interpreting client assessment coaching and mentoring clients working with individuals with complex barriers and a broad range of cultural backgrounds employment counselling referral services building partnerships with community agencies employers and other stakeholders providing customer service and resolving issues both in person and in a virtual delivery system curriculum development instruction to adult ESL learners an asset
  • Current and satisfactory Criminal Record Check required.

COMPENSATION: $28.58 - $31.03 per hour


HOURS:

Full-time (35 hours per week) Monday to Friday.

The successful candidate must be able to commute to our Surrey office at200-7134 King George Blvd.


BENEFITS:

A competitive benefits package is provided with contracts of at least 1 year in length and which offer a minimum of 17.5 hours of work per week.
