Parts Manager Responsibilities:

Inventory & Parts Management:

Oversee the purchasing stocking distribution and tracking of parts fluids filters and shop supplies.
Maintain accurate inventory levels using ERP and inventory management systems (e.g. Tenna Workday).
Manage core returns warranties and backorders with vendors.
Monitor critical parts usage trends and adjust inventory levels accordingly.

Vendor & Cost Control:

Build and maintain relationships with suppliers to ensure competitive pricing reliable delivery and high-quality parts.
Solicit quotes negotiate pricing and process purchase orders.
Approve invoices verify deliveries and ensure accurate billing.

Team & Shop Support:

Supervise parts counter staff and support technicians in identifying correct parts for service and repairs.
Coordinate with fleet managers mechanics and operations teams to anticipate needs.
Ensure organization and cleanliness of parts storage areas.

Technology & Reporting:

Use software platforms for ordering inventory tracking cost analysis and reporting.
Assist with audits cycle counts and compliance with safety/environmental standards.
Generate and review usage and cost reports regularly.

Desired Qualifications:

35 years of experience in a parts department or equipment maintenance environment preferably in construction transportation or heavy equipment.
Prior experience managing inventory vendors and purchasing processes.
Mechanical aptitude and knowledge of diesel equipment vehicles and related components.
Strong organizational problem-solving and multitasking skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; familiarity with ERP software (Tenna Workday etc.) preferred.
High school diploma or GED required; technical certification or college coursework preferred.
