ONT Airport - Welder Level I
Schedule: Monday - Friday (6:00am - 2:30pm)
Wage: $20/hr - $24/hr
SUMMARY OVERVIEW
TheWelderis responsible forexecuting welding operations to construct andmaintainairport ground support equipment. This role demandsproficiencyin various welding techniques such as MIG TIG and arc welding and the ability to accurately interpret blueprints and technical drawings. You must ensure that all welding tasks meet high-quality standards structural integrity andcomply withsafety regulations. Additionally you willmaintainyour equipment in good workingconditionand contribute to theteamefforts in achieving production goals efficiently and safely.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Interpret blueprints and technical drawings todeterminewelding requirements and specificationsâ
- Perform various welding processes including MIG TIG and arc welding selectingappropriate methodsbased on materials and project needsâ
- Prepare and align metal parts to be welded ensuring correct dimensions and alignmentsâ
- Operate welding equipment to fuse metal segments using techniques that minimize distortion and maximize strengthâ
- Inspect completed welds to ensure they meet standards specifications and are defect-freeâ
- Conduct tests on welds to measure characteristics such as strength and tolerance to ensure they meet quality standardsâ
- Maintain a clean and safe working environment bycomplying withprocedures rules and regulationsâ
- Utilize protective equipment to shield against hazards from fumes hot metal and noiseâ
- Perform basic maintenance on welding equipment and machinery to ensureoptimaloperationâ
- Assistin the assembly process by providing expert welding support to other team membersâ
- Train and mentor junior welders and other production staff in welding techniques and safety protocolsâ
- Manage welding supplies and materials ensuring availability and proper handlingâ
- Collaborate with the quality assurance team to discuss and resolve weld quality issuesâ
- Update job knowledge byparticipatingin educational opportunities reading technical publications andparticipatingin professional organizationsâ
- Report to the welding supervisor providing updates on project status and any issues encounteredâ
- ExemplifyPrimeFlightcustomer service and safety standards
- Perform anyadditionalduties as assigned by management
QUALIFICATIONS
- 18 years of age or older
- Eligible to work in the United States
- Communicate effectively in English (reading writing speaking)
- 2 years welding experienceâ
- Ability to access and interpret information in print and electronically including theuseofelectronic devices includingIPads/Tablets Computers and Mobile Devices
- Effectively communicate with colleagues and clients both in-person and through electronic means
- Pass a background check and drug screen
- Eligibility toacquireneeded credentials and clearances (FAA TSA Port Authority U.S. Customs and U.S. Postal- as applicable)
- Airlines are 24/7 so we need our team members to be flexible to work various shifts including nightsweekendsand holidays
