The Sustainability Specialist plays a key role in advancing the organizations global sustainability program. This corporate-level position is responsible for drafting annual submissions to key sustainability raters and rankers and working to identify process and score improvement opportunities. This role also supports the calculation and documentation of the companys GHG inventory and the maintenance of accurate ESG data documentation and systems. The Sustainability Specialist works with cross-functional teams to support responses to a variety of ESG inquiries to ensure consistent high quality ESG reporting and disclosures across the organization.
Key Responsibilities
ESG Data & Process Management: Support the collection calculation and documentation of ESG data including the companys GHG Inventory.
Raters/Rankers Management: Draft annual submissions for sustainability raters and rankers (e.g. CDP EcoVadis) and support improved ESG scoring by identifying actionable gaps and collaborating on process enhancements.
GHG Inventory Documentation: Maintain and update the GHG Inventory Management Plan ensuring internal procedures and assumptions are well-documented and aligned with relevant standards.
Disclosure Support: Assist in the development of the annual Sustainability Report and regulatory disclosures including CSRD.
Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to improve ESG data management and reporting processes. Collaborate with manager and other stakeholders to implement improvement.
ESG Inquiry Response: Support the response to internal and external ESG-related inquiries by facilitating with internal stakeholders with support from manager.
Stakeholder Collaboration: Work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to gather information and support ESG initiatives.
Additional ESG Support: Provide support for evolving ESG-related activities as needed adapting to changes in regulatory requirements customer expectations and the broader ESG landscape.
Qualifications
Bachelors degree.
Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in ESG sustainability data/policy management business or related areas.
Demonstrated experience with ESG raters/rankers GHG data management and accounting standards (e.g. GHG Protocol).
Excellent task management and organizational skills; ability to prioritize and adapt to changing demands.
Strong communication skills with the ability to synthesize technical information.
Analytical mindset with attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
Proficiency with data management tools.
Preferred Skills
Experience with CSRD and other regulatory sustainability/ESG frameworks.
Innovative thinker with a continuous improvement mindset.
Strong written communication skills with experience writing internal policies and procedures.
Experience with sustainability reporting platforms and tools.
