Job Summary

Position OverviewHSAP is seeking a compassionate organized and student-centered School Nurse (RN or LPN) to support the health and safety of our students and staff. The school nurse plays an essential role in promoting student wellness responding to health concerns managing student medical needs and partnering with families to remove barriers to is an excellent opportunity for a nurse who enjoys working with children values teamwork and thrives in a fast-paced school ResponsibilitiesProvide daily health services to students including assessment and basic nursing careAdminister medications according to physician orders and district/state guidelinesSupport students with chronic health conditions (asthma diabetes seizures allergies etc.)Develop and implement individual health care plans as neededMaintain accurate health records medication logs and immunization documentationRespond to injuries illness and urgent medical situations; provide first aid as neededCommunicate with parents/guardians regarding student health needs and concernsCoordinate care with school staff special education teams and outside providersAssist with health screenings wellness initiatives and health education as appropriateSupport compliance with state health requirements (immunizations documentation etc.)Promote a safe and healthy school environmentQualifications Required:Current nursing license in the State of Ohio (RN or LPN depending on role)CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)Strong communication skills with students families and staffAbility to maintain confidentiality and follow FERPA/HIPAA guidelinesComfort working independently and making clinical decisions in real timePreferred:Experience in pediatrics school nursing community health or urgent careExperience working with students with special medical needsKnowledge of student health plans medication administration and documentation systemsSkills We ValueCalm steady and kind under pressureHighly organized and dependableStrong judgment and ability to prioritizeComfortable collaborating with teachers administrators and support staffStudent-first mindset and a warm presence with kidsWork EnvironmentThis role involves working in an primary school setting supporting students from a wide range of backgrounds and health needs.
