Location: West Chester PA
Type: local contract
Position Summary:
The RN in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) delivers high-quality patient-centered care to neonates with complex medical conditions. This role involves close monitoring advanced clinical interventions and collaboration with a multidisciplinary healthcare team to ensure optimal outcomes for newborns and their families.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess plan implement and evaluate nursing care for critically ill or premature infants
- Monitor vital signs oxygen levels and overall neonatal condition
- Administer medications IV fluids and specialized treatments
- Operate and manage NICU equipment (ventilators incubators feeding tubes monitors)
- Assist with procedures such as intubation resuscitation and line placements
- Provide developmental and family-centered care
- Educate and support parents/guardians on infant care and medical conditions
- Maintain accurate and timely patient documentation
- Collaborate with neonatologists respiratory therapists and other healthcare professionals
- Ensure compliance with hospital policies and neonatal care standards
Qualifications:
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
- 2-3 years of Level 3 minimum
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
- Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification required
- Previous NICU or acute care experience preferred
