As a new Maintenance Team Member joining our Village Team you will:
- Be comfortable working at heights and with exposure to outside weather conditions and understand the physical expectations of maintenance work.
- Handle Residents personal items with care and respect.
- Communicate the nature of mechanical problems and possible solutions effectively with minimal supervision.
- Be comfortable lifting 15-25 lbs.
- Have general knowledge of carpentry plumbing electricity hot water heating systems and air exchange units.
- Possess the ability to deal with the fire alarm sprinkler systems call system and other emergency equipment for the Village.
- Display a caring and respectful attitude toward our residents families and team members
- Be willing to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Have exceptional time management skills and ability to work in collaboration with a team.
- Support and embrace our resident-centered social culture .
It would be an asset but not required if our new Maintenance team member has:
- Experience working in a Long-Term Care or Retirement Home setting.
- An awareness and understanding of infection control practices workplace hazardous materials and chemicals (WHMIS) as well as all relevant health and safety procedures.
- Skill in operating common hand and power tools.
