Essential Functions Statement(s)
1. Coaching and Presentations
Contributes to career coaching/advising efforts at the University through this primary function of one-on-one advising of students and alumni.
Develop and facilitate programs on such topics as networking resume writing interviewing job search strategies.
Assists with career and graduate school fairs.
Coordinates at least one major program/project a year for the Hubbard Center.
2. Peer Consultants
Train and mentor the Coquillette Peer Consultants the Centers student peer advisors.
3. Internship administration
Assist with follow up of students and employers during Extended Studies internships.
Participate in the Summer Internship Grant review process.
4. Develop and facilitate the Winter Term course with the co-instructor.
Collaborate with co-instructor to write course description and syllabus develop assignments and complete all necessary administrative responsibilities for Extended Studies credit.
5. Assist the Admissions office
Meet with prospective students and parents to answer their questions concerning Hubbard Center services and resources.
Participate in Admission preview events as needed.
6. Assist in the review design and update of the Hubbard Center career resources and education resources.
7. Liaison with Deans and Chairs
As directed followup on programming and advising requests from School Deans and Department Chairs

Skills & Abilities
Education and Experience: A Bachelors Degree in a related field and 2 years of equivalent experience is required. A Masters degree in any area including but not limited to higher education student affairs college student personnel counseling human resources or a related field with a minimum of one year of providing direct student services in higher education is preferred.
Communication/Language: Intermediate: Ability to read and interpret documents. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
Math Ability: Ability to add subtract multiply and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers common fractions and decimals.
Computer Skills: Google Applications Microsoft Office Social Media
Other Requirements:
This individual must have a strong student services orientation including excellent counseling and interpersonal skills.
Communication and presentation skills as well as the ability to manage multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment are essential as is the ability to envision the big picture while effectively executing operational details.
An understanding and appreciation of the liberal arts as it relates to the world of work is vital in addition to initiative and the ability to establish goals and metrics for success.
This individual must have the ability to function as part of a team with demonstrated capability to be flexible and agile in a complex work environment that supports student experiential education.
Some evenings and weekends will be required.
