Job Summary
TITLE: ESY (Extended School Year) School Nurse WORK YEAR: July 7 2026 - August 7 2026REPORTS TO: ESY (Extended School Year) Coordinator & Director of Student Services NurseProgram: ESY - Monday through Friday - 4.75 hour day (8:30 - 1:15) JOB DESCRIPTION:Under direction of the ESY Coordinator and Director of Student Services provides health services to students in individual and classroom settings. Communicates and interacts with students parents staff and community. Maintains appropriate records and follows required procedures and practices. Monitors appropriate use and care of equipment materials and TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:Associates or Bachelors Degree in applicable field from an accredited college or CERTIFICATE/LICENSE REQUIRED:RIDOH Registered Nurse PHYSICAL DEMANDSThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job: Communicate and detect information at levels to be able to make presentations and exchange information in person and on the telephone Express oneself so others will be able to clearly understand Constantly operate a computer keyboard and manipulate paper Detect determine perceive and identify documentation and reports and to observe students Able to meet multiple demands from several people and meet deadlines with severe time constraints Must be able to remain in a stationary position for extended periods of time in both indoor and outdoor environments and possible move and traverse in order to maintain a safe learning environment Stamina to work irregular or extended hours to include a full day and then attending meetings or supervising evening events Work at a desk conference table small student classroom table or in meetings in various configurations Position self to be able to retrieve items overhead above the shoulders and horizontallyMove and transport moderately heavy objects The position may require the employee to work irregular or extended hours direct responsibility for the safety well-being or work output of other people and meet multiple demands from several people.
