AGENCY SUMMARY:Bellefaire JCB is among the nations largest most experienced child service agencies providing a variety of behavioral health substance abuse education and prevention services. Through more than 25 programs we help more than 30000 youth and their families each year achieve resiliency dignity and self-sufficiency.
POSITION SUMMARY:The Director of the Social Advocates for Youth (SAY) Program is responsible for the implementation and ongoing daily operation of the program. He/she provides direction coordination and administrative supervision to the staff. Additionally the director monitors the programs budget and research implements policies and procedures of the prevention services as well as working to promote the development and on-going funding of the program. The Director of the SAY Program is supervised by the Director of Community Services or his/her designee.
RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:- Provide administrative supervision to the program and staff including but not limited to hiring supervision evaluation disciplinary actions and termination of employees.
- Supervise and assure the maintenance of adequate and timely client records reports and billing.
- Assure that standards/regulations set by accrediting and/or licensing bodies are maintained by the SAY Program staff.
- Ensures agency is operating in accordance with the Ohio Department of Alcohol and Drug Addiction Services prevention certification standards
- Conduct or coordinate staff training that will provide the skills necessary to implement the program.
- In cooperation with appropriate Fiscal staff develop administrate and be responsible for the program budget.
- Report the following to the Director of Community Services or his/her designee on a timely basis:
- Content of monthly budget reports generated by the Fiscal Division.
- Quality assurance and improvement activities and findings.
- Status of special projects or grants being developed and/or administered by the program.
- The status of any legal issues involving the program.
- Develop an annual plan for the operation of the program.
- Initiate contacts with and develop ongoing relationships with school law enforcement and community personnel to seek their involvement with and support of the SAY program.
- Represent the agency in the development or maintenance of relationships with other organizations including sister agencies public agencies managed care companies insurance companies funders and referral sources.
- Provide liaison and appropriate staffing for committees of the Board of Trustees as directed by the Executive Director.
- Assure that program staff participates in agency research projects to evaluate the programs effectiveness.
OTHER DUTIES:- Assist in the development of proposal writing and project sustaining activities.
- Assure that program staff maintains high standards of ethical and professional conduct.
- Attend scheduled staff meetings supervision and on-going training.
- All required trainings certifications and licensure must be kept current in accordance with applicable licensing and accreditation regulations and standards.
- Contribute to the development and maintenance of the clinical record through the timely completion of assigned documentation in accordance with applicable licensing and accreditation regulations and standards.
- Respect the privacy of clients and hold in confidence all information obtained during the clients treatment. All client-related documents should be handled in accordance with Agency guidelines on confidential material.
- Maintain high standards of ethical and professional conduct and adhere to Agency policies and procedures.
- Other duties as assigned by management.
QUALIFICATIONS:- Education:Minimum Masters Degree in Social Work or related field
- Licensure: Valid Ohio LISW-S or LPCC-S required
- Skills: Strong clinical skills including expertise in systemic family therapy crisis intervention family education behavioral interventions and substance abuse therapy.
Knowledge of principles of prevention and prevention program planning. Sensitivity in relating to persons of varying backgrounds and demonstrated ability to work with diverse groups of people possessing various strengths aptitudes and abilities. Ability to perform job responsibilities with a high degree of initiative and independent judgment. Demonstrated strong oral and written communication skills and effective interpersonal skills. Proficiency in using Agency computer systems and software as required to perform essential job functions Practical and creative problem solving skills.
