Position Summary
The Summer Intern provides supervised support to children and adults with autism autism intellectual disabilities developmental delays and other complex behavioral needs. This position offers hands-on learning exposure to evidence-based practices and interdisciplinary collaboration in a mission-driven environment. Interns will gain experience aligned with their academic field of study and program requirements. Opportunities are available in Winchester VA and Richmond VA.

Essential Responsibilities
- Support implementation of individualized treatment behavior or support plans undersupervision.
- Observe andassistclinicians educators and behavior specialists in direct service delivery.
- Provide structured support in classroom clinic residential or community settings.
- Assistwith data collection progress tracking and documentation as directed.
- Participate in therapeutic educational or skill-building activities with individuals served.
- Helpmaintaina safe supportive and trauma-informed environment.
- Attend required training sessions supervision meetings and team briefings.
- Communicate observations or concerns to supervisors using organizational protocols.
- Work effectively as part of an interdisciplinary team (BCBAsTeachers OTs SLPsNurses Socialworkers).
Required Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in an accredited college or university program in psychology applied behavior analysis social work special education nursing occupational therapy speech-language pathology counseling or related behavioral/health sciences.
- Interest in serving individuals with developmental and intellectual disabilities.
- Ability to meet all required background checks clearances and health requirements.
- Ability to adhere to scheduling requirements.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in behavioral health human services education or caregiving.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to collaborate in diverse multidisciplinary teams.
- Demonstrated reliability professionalism and adaptability.
Knowledge Skills and Competencies
- Basic understanding of behavioral health or developmental disabilities.
- Ability toobserve record and follow data collection procedures.
- Professionalism and confidentiality in handling sensitive information.

Work Environment and Physical Requirements
- Work may occur in residential homes school or community.
- May involve standing walking bending or supporting individuals with mobility or behavioral needs.
