The Group OBGYN Full-Time Job Title: Medical AssistantDepartment: Clinical Reports To: Clinical Supervisor / Provider / Practice Manager Position SummaryThe Medical Assistant (MA) supports physicians nurse practitioners nurse midwives and other clinical staff in delivering high-quality patient care within a private OB/GYN practice. The MA performs both clinical and administrative duties to ensure efficient office operations and excellent patient experience. Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesClinical ResponsibilitiesRoom patients and obtain vital signs height weight and medical history Prepare patients for examinations and procedures Assist providers during pelvic exams procedures and minor in-office surgeries Collect and process specimens (urine blood cultures Pap tests etc.) Perform CLIA-waived lab testing (pregnancy tests urinalysis etc.) Administer injections and vaccines as directed Provide patient education and follow-up instructions Clean and sterilize instruments and exam rooms Maintain exam room supplies and equipment
Administrative ResponsibilitiesDocument patient information accurately in the electronic medical record (EMR) Process prescription refills per protocol Schedule appointments and coordinate referrals Handle prior authorizations and insurance verification as needed Answer patient phone calls and respond to portal messages Maintain patient confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA
QualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalent required Completion of accredited Medical Assistant program preferred Current Medical Assistant certification (CMA RMA or equivalent) preferred Current CPR certification required OB/GYN experience preferred but not required
Skills & CompetenciesStrong interpersonal and communication skills Knowledge of womens health terminology and procedures Ability to multitask in a fast-paced clinical environment Attention to detail and strong organizational skills Professional demeanor and patient-centered attitude Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion
Physical RequirementsAbility to stand for extended periods Ability to lift up to 25 pounds Manual dexterity for clinical procedures - Supportive physician-led private practice environment
