Job Summary: The Medical Surgical Registered Nurse provides direct patient care to adult medical and post-surgical patients utilizing the nursing process to assess plan implement and evaluate individualized care plans in an acute care setting.

Responsibilities
Perform comprehensive patient assessments and develop appropriate care plans.
Provide bedside nursing care to pre- and post-surgical patients.
Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
Monitor vital signs and recognize/report changes in patient condition.
Perform wound care IV therapy and other clinical interventions.
Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams on discharge planning and patient education.
Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the medical record.

Requirements
Minimum 2 years of Med/Surg experience in a large acute care hospital setting (most recent within the past year)
2 years of Med/Surg experience in a post-acute or acute care setting (most recent within the past year).
Proficiency in physical assessment medication administration wound care infection control IV therapy post-operative care patient education and telemetry monitoring.
EPIC EMR experience preferred.
One contract only no extension.

Education: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).

Certifications
AHA BLS.
AHA ACLS (Queens only if applicable).

License
Active New York State Registered Nurse (RN) License.
