The Boeing CompanyBoeings Law & Global Compliance Ethics organization is seeking a Senior Compliance & Ethics Officer (C&E Officer) to support Spirit Defense a minimally (non-fully) integrated subsidiary of Boeing. The C&E Officer will be embedded within Spirit Defense in Wichita Kansas and will serve as the Global Compliance focal for all employees working inside the Spirit Defense organization.
This role will play a critical part in promoting an ethical culture enabling a transparent and accountable work environment and helping employees understand and uphold Boeings Code of Conductwhile operating within the unique regulatory and structural boundaries that govern Spirit Defenses business and independence from other Boeing defense operations.
The C&E Officer will build strong partnerships across Spirit Defense leadership functional teams and employees at all levels ensuring that the organization maintains a workplace that reflects Boeings values while navigating a complex regulated and firewall-controlled environment.
Spirit Defense will continue to operate as an independent supplier to the defense industry to ensure uninterrupted customer support. The company will align with Boeing Defense Space & Security for financial reporting and select enterprise functional and site services while maintaining independent governance and day-to-day operations.
Position Responsibilities:
Serve as a visible onsite compliance and ethics leader who builds trust with employees proactively engages on compliance and ethical concerns and helps foster a culture of openness integrity and accountability.
Promote speak-up culture by empowering employees to raise concerns ensuring issues are welcomed handled appropriately and free from retaliation.
Build constructive relationships with Spirit Defense leaders managers and employee groups to reinforce expectations for compliant behavior adherence to the Boeing Code of Conduct and elevate the employee experience.
Proactively identify and assess emerging compliance and ethics risks within Spirit Defense through engagement data-driven monitoring and analysis of trends.
Translate complex compliance expectations including restrictions tied to Spirit Defenses independent operations into practical understandable guidance for leaders and employees.
Monitor internal data external developments and site-level observations to produce timely insights that inform leadership decision-making.
Collaborate with Global Compliance teammates to ensure local insights strengthen enterprise-wide compliance maturity while maintaining all required information firewalls.
Support implementation of Global Compliance & Ethics programs tools and messaging at Spirit Defense.
Support unique regulatory and compliance requirements associated with operating as a defense contractor.
Deliver centrally developed training awareness efforts and culture-building activities tailored to the Spirit Defense environment and workforce.
Help employees understand compliance expectations related to conduct integrity workplace behaviors and ethical decision-making.
Promote effective sustainable controls that support ethical behavior and prevent misconduct without compromising Spirit Defenses operational independence.
Ensure timely thorough and high-quality intake of ethics concerns raised by employees at the Spirit Defense site.
Partner with investigative teams by providing local context and facilitating employee engagement as needed while maintaining strict adherence to firewall restrictions.
Support remediation efforts by helping identify behavioral trends or environmental contributors that may require targeted guidance or engagement.
Act as a trusted advisor to Spirit Defense leaders by providing ethical guidance that supports decision-making and preserves a healthy workplace culture.
Navigate ambiguity and complexity by applying sound judgment independent thought and strong interpersonal skills.
Contribute to continuous improvement of compliance-related processes behaviors and cultural drivers.
Provide trend insights and employee engagement feedback to Boeing Global Compliance leadership while ensuring all communication remains firewall-compliant.
Partner with Global Compliance and Spirit Defense functional and business teams to support compliance initiatives impacting the defense business.
Serve as the Global Compliance representative to site leadership teams and participate in forums that drive culture safety and ethical decision-making.
Support special projects or compliance initiatives tailored to Spirit Defenses environment as assigned.
Maintain current knowledge of compliance practices tools industry trends and relevant regulatory developments.
Assuming additional responsibilities and performing special projects as needed.
Operate fully within applicable information sharing restrictions governing Spirit Defense and its independence from other Boeing defense programs.
Partner with Spirit Defense leadership and local site stakeholders to maintain high ethical standards while supporting and enabling compliance with the structural separation that enables Spirit Defense to serve non-Boeing customers.
BasicQualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
Bachelors degree or higher
5 years of experience in ethics compliance risk management legal or related fields.
Experience building trust and engaging with employees at all levels ideally in a high-engagement or site-based role.
Experience with assessing and advising on compliance matters associated with operating as a defense contractor and doing business with the US Government and other customers.
Demonstrated ability to identify risks perform analysis and provide practical values-aligned solutions.
Strong interpersonal verbal and written communication skills with ability to influence and counsel leaders constructively.
Experience safeguarding sensitive or confidential information.
Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Security Clearance including interim and/or final Top Secret clearance post-start.
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
Experience in a corporate ethics and compliance department government agency or defense-related compliance role.
Experience in risk-based monitoring analytics or compliance assessments.
Experience in high-regulation or manufacturing environments preferably aerospace or defense.
Working knowledge of FARs and DFARs
Project management skills related to setting priorities and executing plans.
Experience developing and facilitating training.
Advanced degree (J.D. MBA or masters in compliance risk management communications or related field).
Professional certifications such as CCEP CCEP-I CRMA CISA PMP or related credentials.
