Job Summary:
The Cyber Security Analyst 2 role supports the Department of the Secretary of State (SoS) in maintaining the security of its critical infrastructure and information systems. This position involves creating revising and managing Risk Management Framework (RMF)-related documentation preparing for independent system assessments and providing information security expertise. The analyst will be responsible for security analysis incident response identifying endpoint anomalies and collaborating with team members to address security events.
Location:Augusta Maine United StatesnWashington District of Columbia United States
Responsibilities:
- Assist with creating revising and managing RMF-related documentation.
- Prepare for independent assessments of the information system.
- Perform security analysis and incident response.
- Identify endpoint anomalies and malware exploitation techniques.
- Understand social engineering tactics.
- Take prompt action on security events and collaborate with team members or subject matter experts.
Required Skills & Certifications:
- Experience with Security Onion ELK stack and Threat Down.
- Minimum 4 years of information security experience.
- Strong analytical skills for effective security analysis and incident response.
- Ability to identify endpoint anomalies and malware exploitation techniques.
- Understanding of social engineering tactics.
- Ability to take prompt action on security events and collaborate with team members or subject matter experts.
- CISSP CISM or CISA certification.
Preferred Skills & Certifications:
- Bachelors degree in a relevant information technology field.
- Five or more years of experience in information security.
- Hands-on experience in risk management information security assessment security architecture and incident response.
- Strong knowledge of IT infrastructure.
- Familiarity with NIST standards (Risk Management Framework or Cybersecurity Framework).
Special Considerations:
- 100% Onsite work location. Must be within 2 hours of Augusta ME.
- Candidates must upload a current screenshot picture onto the interview request page in dotStaff as a PDF file before the interview.
- Vendors MUST be present at the beginning of the interview to validate their candidate.
- State of Maine required credentials must be met and uploaded to the contractors dotStaff profile prior to reporting for their first day.
- eVerify must be completed & uploaded no later than the contractors third day of contract.

- 40 hours/week.
