About the Department
Thurrock Councils Adolescent & Child Exploitation Team are looking for an experienced young adult exploitation prevention worker to join a small and friendly team with a strong commitment to effective performance management staff well-being community engagement and partnership working.
About the Role
As the successful candidate youwill be responsible for providing direct support tothose young people (17 25 yrs) leaving care and moving into After care serviceswho are at risk of or who have experienced gangs and child criminal exploitation. The successful candidate will work towards raising the awareness of exploitation for young people transitioning into early adulthood within colleges and other targeted educational provisions.
This role will involve working across children services schools colleges and relevant partners to develop and deliver effective support and interventions for young adults families social workers youth offending service case managers and all other agencies within the Youth justice partnership.
This is a critical role and the successful applicant must have a proven record of engaging with hard-to-reach young people /adults and an understanding of child exploitation gangs county lines and serious youth violence.
