Mary Immaculate School is currently seeking aPK- 3rd Grade Physical Education for the 2026-2027 school year.
General Summary of the Position
The Classroom Teacher plans guides and evaluates the learning process of students. This position reports to the principal and has decision-making responsibilities within the framework of school policies philosophy organization and curriculum.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities of the Position
- Support the schools mission and be active in the life and culture of the school and parish community.
- Represent Mary Immaculate School at community functions as needed.
- Ensure compliance with policies and procedures of Mary Immaculate Catholic School and the Diocese of Dallas.
- Initiate or develop other programsrelativeto the job description.
- Perform all other duties and special projects as assigned by the principal.
- Model and teach Catholic doctrine values and morals.
- Workcooperatively with administrators facultystudentsand parents to form a faith community in the school and parish.
- Prepare lesson plans and teach in assigned subject area and grade levelin accordance withstate and diocesan guidelines.
- Use relevant technology to support and differentiateinstruction.
- Recognize the variety of student learning styles andfacilitatelearning by adapting instructional methods and teaching materials to student needs.
- Use various assessments to measure student growth.
- Assign andmonitorstudent activities to promote student learning.
- Supervise students within the school. Supervise students both at and away from the school whenparticipatingin school-sponsored activities in an official capacity.
- Consistently enforce the schools discipline policies tomaintainstudent behavior and discipline in the classroom on the playground in the gym and on the field.
- Raise the profile participation levels and enjoyment of the PE and athletic programs.
- Encourage students to develop their skills in a variety of sports and extracurricular activities.
- Plan and deliver quality skills-based PE lessons with logicallysequencedobjectivesbased on adopted curriculum.
- Maintain PE equipment update equipment inventory and prepare equipment for all lessons.
- Ensure the health safety and welfare of all students in the PE program byestablishinga safe environment that is conducive to learning.
- Collaborate with fellow physical education team members for the advancement of the PE program.
- Communicate regularly and effectively with parentsregardingstudent progress.
- Maintain school records as required by school policy.
- Implement school safety procedures.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelors degree in subject taught or related field from an accredited American university required
- Must meet the minimum requirements for teaching field as set forth by the Diocese and TCCB ED.
- Must meet staff development guidelines as set forth by the Diocese and school administration.
Special Requirements:
- Must be willing and open to understanding Catholic teachings required.
- Preferred practicing Catholic in good standing.
