Job Summary

COMMAND WARRANT OFFICER ARMED FORCES RECRUITING

The Armed Forces Recruiting Service begins operation in 2027 assuming control from the current single service operations. The key appointment of Command Warrant Officer within the Command and Support Unit is the lead enlisted service person amongst the tri-service team providing essential guidance and Leadership to the wider recruiting enterprise.

The successful candidate will have the responsibility to support and advise the Commanding Officer of the Recruiting Force but additionally act as a vital asset to the 1* Tri-service Comd into HQ AFR. They will be the expert and advocate for the extensive recruiting workforce being the voice leader and champion for the people entrusted with meeting Defences requirements.

This is a rotational position. The RN/RM have been nominated to initially fill this position. The inaugural incumbent will set the tone with their positive approach and ability to connect with the wider workforce to achieve defence inflow.

The applicant will be able to demonstrate significant recruiting experience and would have worked within a Tri-Service organisation. Additionally having worked alongside an MoD commercially partners would be highly desirable.

This FTRS(FC) position is based in Abbey wood Bristol and will require routine travel across the UK.


Unit & Position Role

Unit Function

Deliver Armed Forces Recruitment to maximise optimal inflow of candidates to support delivery of Defence strategic and operational capabilities.

Position Role

Comd WO responsible for upholding the values and standards for all military personnel within AFRS. Act as the ORs voice to Comd and inspire juniors.

Responsibilities

1. Serve as Senior Enlist Advisor to the Comd AFR and Senior Leadership Team (SLT).

2. Serve on the SLT Committee and provide advice on Embedded Service Personnel (ESP) matters including personnel discipline welfare Career development and morale.

3. Advise Comd AFR and CO CSU on Infra improvements for the betterment of ESP workforce and wider AFR community.

4. Lead and develop the AFR WO and SNCO mentorship and education programme including the supervision of Mil Pers sS mandatory training requirements.

5. Assist the Comd AFR and CO CSU with the production of Command and Management Plan.

6. Uphold the values standards and ethos as defined by single Service doctrine as well as those defined as part of the AFRS culture.

7. Advise and direct ceremonial duties and parades for site VVIP and remembrance activities

8. Maintenance and upkeep of military discipline in the unit.


Local Considerations

Domestic

Position will be located at HQ AFR Abbey Wood but expected to travel with Comd AFR and CO CSU on visits and engagements.
