We are Canadas largest independent information technology services firm and after 45 years were still growing! Join Canadas largest IT Company as a Java Production Support Tech Lead in our Financial Services Sector in Toronto.
Location - Downtown Toronto (Hybrid - 3 days office) subject to change at any time.
Your future duties and responsibilities:
Serve as technical owner for assigned applications/platforms.
Ensure adherence to SLAs and audit/compliance requirements.
Lead triage root cause analysis (RCA) and restoration for Production incidents.
Establish runbooks escalation path and manage documentation.
Own technical validation for releases hotfixes and planned changes.
Track availability latency error rates capacity and performance baselines.
Maintain AMS backlog (stability security tech debt automation).
Prioritize with Service Delivery/PM/Product based on impact and risk
Ensure patching vulnerability remediation identity/access hygiene and data protection.
Support audits evidence collection and policy adherence
Automate repetitive tasks (deployments health checks housekeeping).
Act as technical POC to Business Service Delivery and Vendors.
Communicate status risks and incident updates clearly to technical and non-technical audiences.
Required qualifications to be successful in this role:
Operating Systems: Strong experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL 7/8/9) administration.
Programming: Proficiency in Java (8) and Bash/Shell scripting.
Knowledge of Service Now Dynatrace Splunk
Java Ecosystem: Familiarity with OpenJDK/Oracle JDK Apache Maven Sybase and JVM-based backend/batch services.
Experience with IBM MQ.
Databases: Expertise in Oracle Database (12c/19c) and JDBC for connectivity.
Knowledge of CRON jobs and Source Control & CI/CD: Proficient in and script-based deployments
**CGI is providing a reasonable estimate of the pay range for this role. The determination of this range includes factors such as skill set level geographic market experience and training and licenses and certifications. Compensation decisions depend on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $95000$145000. This role is an existing vacancy.
