Dietary Assistant #15

Permanent Part time (0.36 EFT) Days (10:45-6:00)

Position duties:

Prepares afternoon & evening snack carts
Portions desserts for supper meal
Prepares food/drink carts for special occasions comfort carts etc.
Serves lunch and supper meal on 2-North
Assists with washing/putting away dishes
Complete daily cleaning duties

Qualifications:

Previous experience in Food Services is required
Physically able to meet the demands of the job including standing for extended periods and lifting items up to 20 lbs
Experience working in a team environment
Demonstrated ability to work in a fast paced environment
Strong time management skills to balance competing priorities
Food Handlers Certificate is required within 6 months of employment

In all activities the Dietary Assistant ensures that interactions are framed by the resident/tenant perspective to reflect Donwoods mission of caring for seniors with respect dignity and Christian values.

Responsibilities:

Demonstrate skill efficiency concern and diligence in the performance of duties with a minimum of direct supervision;
Satisfactorily maintain a high standard of service and cleanliness;
Exercise courtesy and co-operation towards residents visitors and team workers;
Perform duties related to position assigned;
Responsible for reading policy and procedures disaster manual WHMIS manual and understanding specific responsibilities;
Adhere to principles of safety and sanitation.

This position requires a current satisfactory Criminal Records Check (including Vulnerable Sector Search) Child Abuse Registry Check and Adult Abuse Registry Check as conditions of employment.
