$54.90 - $82.35The APP will function independently in the inpatient hospitalincollaboration with a supervising physician and other members of a multidisciplinary teamforcardiac surgical and non-surgical patients in the CVICU.These patients include but are not limited to complex neonatal repairs VADECMOand transplant patients.
Essential Functions:
Functions independently to perform age-appropriatedisease-specifichistory and physicalexamination ofcomplex acute critical and chronicadvanced heart failure patients.
Rounds dailywith interdisciplinary team
Manages careand treatment planas thefront-lineproviderforpatients
Orders and interprets diagnostic and therapeutic testsincluding laboratory and radiologic
Prescribesappropriate pharmacologicand non-pharmacologic treatment modalities
Monitors the effectiveness of interventions
Documents all patient encounters records observations interventions and actions in a medicallyappropriate mannerin the patients electronic medical record
Collaborates with members of the multidisciplinary team including but not limitedto:physicians nurses medical assistants social workers pharmacistsdieticians
Performs chest tube removals pacer wire removalsand pediatric ICU proceduresincludingchest tube insertion central and arterial line access and intubations
Attendsparticipates and contributes to group/practice meetingsquality improvement and policy and procedure development efforts whenrequested.
Min Work standards-1880 hoursper year- shifts are varied with days nights and weekends split amongst group excludingnocturnistAPPs.
Must be approved to practice as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant in the state of North and South Carolina. Eligible for prescriptive authority application through the Board of Nursing or Medical Board in North and South Carolina. Must have or be eligible for a DEA license. BLS for Healthcare Provider from AHAwithexpirationdate greater than90 daysfrom date of beginning practice. Demonstratesappropriate criticalthinking interpersonal skills and the ability to prioritize and concentrate.2 years of experience as an APP in a relevant field preferred.
