Job Summary

At the NSW Department of Education we educate and inspire lifelong learners from early childhood through schooling to vocational education and training.

  • Full time ongoing opportunity
  • Salary ranges from $149739 to $173174 p.a. plus super and annual leave loading
  • This role offers flexible working arrangements across office locations.The position requires attendance at the Parramatta office one day per week with flexibility to work from another Education Office on other days aligned to team requirements.


About the role
You will lead the uplift of the departments school assurance program ensuring it is fit for purpose effective and strategically resourced.

This role focuses on addressing current and emerging risks across both financial and non-financial areas including child safety work health and safety and procurement.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Analysing and reporting on assurance outcomes and performance data to provide clear strategic insights
  • Strengthening engagement with Principals and Director Educational Leadership offices and collaborating with key stakeholders including external oversight bodies and industry and interstate counterparts to enhance assurance and compliance management
  • Managing a geographically dispersed team building capability professional expertise and a culture of continuous improvement

About you


Essential requirements of the role

  • Tertiary qualifications in Public Administration Accounting Management Education or a related field and/or demonstrated equivalent professional experience.
  • Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to the value of public education.
  • Current and valid Working with Children Check Clearance for paid employment.
