Job Summary

KRA	Safety Implementation: Ensure implementation of safe working practices in the Mines to achieve zero accident goals.	Periodic Safety Audit and Implementation of points observed. Regular inspection and Monitor the implementation of safety norms Participation in dept. meeting and emphasis on use of Personnel Protective Equipment(PPE). Generate and review of reports and analysis of accidents Feedback to Departmental Heads on the status of monitoring the implementation of the action points related to safety. Proper Implementation of Work Permit System. Safety Survey Ensure display of safe operating procedure/instructions.
KRA	Safety promotion and awareness: Conduct competition & campaign related to safety in order to create awareness and motivate employees to improve Safety culture in the unit.	Display boards posters/slogans Administrate Safety pledge on safety day involving all employees Safety Competition Essays Slogans Posters Drama quiz etc. for employees and school children. Arrange & conduct safety awareness campaigns Safety awareness through sending Safety articles circulars etc... to all the employees through software.
KRA	Development of safety procedures: Investigation and analysis of accidents to develop improved safe working practices in the unit.	Listing activities of operations in co-ordination with departmental people (Job Safety Analysis) Identifying hazards and risk analysis Implement Counter-measures for hazards/risks Investigate and analyse causes of accidents and type of injuries Analyse thro Causation Model Preparation of safety budget.
KRA	Statutory compliance: Monitor compliance of statutory requirements pertaining to safety rules and regulations to enhance the image of the unit	Arrange / Co-ordinate for safety committee meetings. Inspection of equipments as per safety norms e.g. HEMMs Tippers etc. Preparation of departmental accident reports and to send to statutory authority. Conduct mock drills to check Onsite emergency preparedness Coordinate with MCL Safety Officer. Identification of Hazards Analyse risks related to operational and maintenance activities Co-ordination with various departments for implementation of Safety Norms. Development of systems and periodic audit review and analyse improvement. Monitoring the implementation of corrective action on Audit Observations.
KRA	Design and conduct safety training programme for employees and associates	Induction Safety training for each & every contractor labours & refresher training to contractor labours. Conduct regular class room safety trainings Conduct on the job safety training especially for contract labour. Safety training for supplier and vendors. Training for prevention of fire and demonstration for firefighting.
KRA	Conduct safety audit and ensure implementation of the points observed.	Conduct safety audit of all section of mines and follow up for their correction. Conduct safety audit Liaisoning with DGMS authorities Liaisoning with Central Labour Institute. Liaisoning with National Safety Council. Analysis & Implementation of suggestions received during Corporate safety meet.
KRA	Standardization procurement and inspection of personal protective equipment.	Ensure a standard of personal protective equipment. Maintain minimum and maximum stock through store inventory. Inspection & approval of Personal Protective Equipment as per Indian Standard or as per sample.
