As the Senior Plant Manager you are responsible for the overall production operations for Airgas Dry Ice in Star position will report directly to the Regional Manager. The highest priority for this role is to be a people-first leader. This includes hiring and training the right people engaging them to function as a team and weaving safety into every action we take. This position alongside leadership will be responsible for driving the Airgas Safety culture.
You must have expertise in the implementation training and execution of lean manufacturing practices Visual Facility Management 5S materials usage and shipping and receiving as well as capacity planning safety production and scheduling.
You will provide leadership throughout the production team with a focus on increased attention to the proactive identification of future challenges problem resolution to facilitate rapid improvements and improved working relationships among the entire organization.
Specific Job Responsibilities:
Ensure quality of products is maintained at a high level and in accordance with company policy and regulations.
Responsible for planning implementing and overseeing facility and employee safety. Leads and/or supports management in investigating safety incidents and developing measures to prevent recurrences.
Adjust resources to meet production schedules through capacity planning and machine utilization. Analyze production schedules to run efficiently as possible.
Partner with onsite management team to develop and implement measures to improve production methods. Communicate employee staffing needs dependent upon product volume requirements.
Partner with onsite management team to communicate and facilitate performance management coaching and documented accountability protocols for production staff.
Develop and maintain audit cadence to make sure all Airgas manufacturing policies 5S workplace organization and overall health of the facility is consistently prioritized.
Partner with the maintenance team regarding off peak/low impact scheduling for preventative and repair downtime of production equipment.
Required Qualifications:
Associates degree or High School diploma with formal technical
training considered in conjunction with extensive relevant experience.
Minimum of 10 years experience in a supervisory role of more than 15 production personnel in an industrial environment. This experience should include leading managers supervisors and front-line production personnel.
Ability to lead communicate and operate alongside a workforce ranging in skill level from temporary talent front line employees various levels of management and senior
leadership.
Candidates must have valid employment authorization in the U.S and must not require visa sponsorship now or in the future.
Knowledge of use of computerized management systems
Highly organized with the ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in related field of work
Process reliability and/or project engineering background
Work Environment
30% of the time in an office/administrative setting.
70% of the time actively in the plant to be available engaged and supervising the production/maintenance team.
Plant environment is an unconditioned work space (i.e. warm in summer cool in winter).
Hazards require the use of personal protective equipment (i.e. hard hat safety glasses hearing protection and safety shoes). Dry ice is extremely cold and therefore requires that gloves be worn when directly handling dry ice.
