JOB SUMMARY

The Group Leader supports the Supervisor in overseeing daily departmental operations to ensure efficient and high-quality production. This role requires comprehensive knowledge of department processes and equipment and involves guiding team members managing workflow and assisting with scheduling and materials coordination. The Group Leader also plays a key role in problem-solving employee coaching and maintaining compliance with safety and quality standards.

YOUR IMPACT

  • Perform and demonstrate key departmental tasks with a high level of proficiency.
  • Apply knowledge of standards equipment tools and workflow to identify and implement process improvements.
  • Provide daily feedback coaching and support to team members to enhance performance.
  • Mentor and assist in training new employees.
  • Monitor and adjust workflow to meet production schedules.
  • Support and enforce production policies and procedures.
  • Assign tasks and lead by example through hands-on work.
  • Assist with inspections and ensure product quality before final release.
  • Interact professionally with customers and customer representatives as needed.
  • Communicate effectively across all organizational levels including team members management and HR.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment adhering to safety protocols and 6S standards.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • 6 months or more experience in an industrial/manufacturing setting.
  • Ability and willingness to work overtime as needed including evenings weekends and holidays to meet business and production demands.
  • Maintain regular and reliable attendance in-person and on-site.

STANDOUT QUALIFICATIONS

  • Previous leadership experience.
  • Associate or trade certificate(s) related to the job function.
  • Computer literate with Microsoft office.

WORKING CONDITIONS

The following represents general working conditions for this role. Specific conditions may vary depending on business needs and individual circumstances.

  • This position is based in a manufacturing or production environment and may involve exposure to loud noise dust moving machinery or temperature fluctuations.
  • The role may require standing for extended periods repetitive motions lifting/carrying up to 35 pounds pushing/pulling up to 50 pounds and up to 30 pounds sustained bending kneeling climbing or using tools and equipment.
  • Proper personal protective equipment (PPE) must be worn when required.
  • Visual and auditory acuity are needed for safe equipment operation and effective communication in a busy workspace.
