Gidgee Healing is an Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Service dedicated to improving the health and wellbeing of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples across the Northwest and Lower Gulf regions of Queensland. The Role: Finance Officer
Youll play a key part in our day-to-day finance operations ensuring timely accurate and compliant management of accounts payable and financial records.
Key Responsibilities
- Invoice Processing
- Review verify and process invoices with accuracy
- Ensure correct coding and policy compliance
- Process payments within required timeframes
Vendor Management
- Maintain uptodate vendor information
- Respond to vendor enquiries and resolve discrepancies
- Reconcile vendor statements
Payment Processing
- Prepare and process payment runs
- Monitor payment terms and early payment discounts
- Maintain accurate payment records
Accounts Reconciliation
- Investigate discrepancies between vendor and company records
- Prepare reports as required
Compliance & Reporting
- Ensure adherence to financial policies and regulations
- Support internal audits and financial reviews
- Monitor accounts payable ageing
Process Improvement
- Identify efficiency opportunities
- Support system updates or transitions
What Youll Bring
- 2 years of experience in bookkeeping accounting or finance
- Strong knowledge of accounts payable procedures
- Proficiency with accounting systems
- Excellent attention to detail and problemsolving skills
Practical Requirements
- Current QLD C Class drivers licence
- Blue Card (or willingness to obtain)
- National Police Check
- Willingness to travel including to remote regions and to Mount Isa for team activities
