EduTalent Group are hiring for an English Tutor to support the delivery and development of an inclusive engaging and high-quality English curriculum.
The successful candidate will work closely with the Coordinator to embed curriculum intent across English provision and plan and deliver English lessons in line with the curriculum. They will develop mid and long-term schemes of work alongside other English tutors and baseline students within the first term ensuring the correct pathway and qualification level. The role involves setting reviewing and revisiting individual student targets incorporating Self Assessment Reviews and monitoring student folders to ensure documentation is up to date including declarations LAS handbooks and targets.
The English Tutor will oversee tracking coursework progress and evidence gathering logging termly progress on Pathways and Progress Trackers. They will support planning mock assessments and standards in line with the scheme of work reporting any concerns to the Coordinator. Ensuring students complete their qualifications within expected timeframes is a key responsibility along with directing Associate Teachers to support student access to learning and ensuring all SEND processes and support mechanisms are in place. The role requires liaising with the SENCo to ensure EHCP targets are achieved in a timely and accessible way recording attendance accurately following up on absenteeism and maintaining detailed student chronologies including attendance behaviour safeguarding health and safety and achievements.
The successful candidate will ensure compliance with awarding organisation standards in partnership with IQA and EQA and contribute to the development of accessible English resources for both online and face-to-face delivery. Collaboration with wider curriculum areas is essential to ensure effective cross-curricular links while promoting a positive supportive and student-centred learning environment. The English Tutor will uphold all statutory regulations including safeguarding health and safety equality and GDPR and represent the organisation professionally at all times. The role also includes line management responsibilities providing supervision and guidance to teaching staff to ensure delivery meets EIF standards. Occasional attendance at events or activities outside normal working hours may be required.
Requirements
Essential:
Qualified teacher status or relevant teaching qualification
Experience delivering English qualifications
Strong understanding of SEND provision and EHCP processes
Experience with tracking assessment and awarding body compliance
Knowledge of ESFA and GDPR requirements
Ability to lead and support colleagues confidently
Excellent organisational and communication skills
Commitment to safeguarding and promoting student wellbeing
Desirable:
Experience developing schemes of work and resources for multiple learning levels
Familiarity with cross-curricular teaching approaches
Experience working with Associate Teachers or supporting staff
Understanding of Google Classroom and blended learning environments
Interest in innovative approaches to student engagement and inclusion
