A position as an Research assistant with master for 4 months is vacant. The Research assistant will work on preclinical mice models for tumor development and influenza. The project will be led by PhD and group leader Ranveig Braathen at the Department of Immunology and Transfusion Medicine Oslo University Hospital. The successful candidate will work in a 10-member research team. The research group is part of a stimulating and international research environment of about 100 scientists working on various aspects of immunology.

Duties and responsibilities
The successful candidate will work in mouse models for multiple myeloma (MM) and influenza. The aim is to decipher the mechanism for how genomic vaccines can prevent diseases. The work involves (i) designing and production of DNA vaccines against MM and influenza (ii) in vitro cell work to test the vaccines (iii) use DNA and mRNA vaccines as treatment (iv) in vivo monitoring of influenza challenge (v) in vivo monitoring of cancer via IVIS spectrum.
Qualifications
We seek a highly motivated person with a master or equivalent in immunology molecular biology or related fields. The ideal candidate will have:
- Prior experience within immunology or infectious diseases or cancer immunology research.
- Prior experience with techniques such as ELISA flow cytometry cell culture molecular biology techniques PCR protein purification adoptive cell transfer (ACT) in mice in vivo monitoring of tumor cells by IVIS spectrum influenza challenge in mice.
- Experience in handling mice (FELASA C approval).
