Job Summary

About the position

A 3-year postdoctoral fellowship is available at the Norwegian Coeliac Disease Research Centre Department of Immunology Oslo University Hospital starting March 1st 2026. Both earlier and later start dates can be accommodated.

The position is funded and supervised by Dr. Fleur du Pré and forms part of a collaborative international project involving the research group of Professor Ludvig Sollid at the Norwegian Coeliac Disease Research Centre and the group of Associate Professor Katharina Lahl at the University of Calgary Canada.

Project description
The overall aim of this project is to identify mechanistic links between gastrointestinal viral infections with a particular focus on rotavirus and the onset of coeliac disease. Coeliac disease is a common gastrointestinal autoimmune disorder triggered by dietary gluten proteins. Although viral infections have been associated with the development of coeliac disease the underlying mechanisms remain poorly understood.
This project will employ advanced humanized mouse models expressing immune receptors derived from patients with coeliac disease to characterize immune pathways that can initiate disease development following viral infection. The work combines cellular immunology virology and translational disease modeling in a highly interactive research environment.

Oslo University Hospital is a workplace with great diversity. We believe this is crucial for solving our tasks in the best possible way. We want this diversity to be reflected among the applicants for our positions and we encourage all qualified candidates regardless of background to apply!
