What is BPA/UMPA
Its a meaningful position working closely with a disabled individual who has the need for physical assistance to accomplish responsibilities and goals in and outside of the home. Similar to how a wheelchair helps one go a BPA helps a disabled person live a good productive life. By helping be my arms and legs when they dont cooperate.

Who am I
In this position youd be working with a kindhearted 42 year old disabled mother who lives together with her 3 children doting spouse and hypoallergenic dog. Once an abled professional artist and writer now disabled she understands the meaning of living a full life. Although her body has reduced in physical function her cognitive ability and motivation to perform her personal responsibilities have not reduced in size nor importance. Prior to disability she had established a home family and career and wishes to maintain these ties with support of BPA. Motherhood comes first but when her body allows for painting and creating content for her social media platforms she is in her happy place!

We are looking for trustworthy and dependable individuals who enjoy teamwork but can also take self initiative to work on achieving the daily goals individually. English is the preferred language in the workplace. Ideally having at minimum one BPA who is proficient in both English and Norwegian language would be a great resource for translation purposes but it not mandatory.

We are looking for on-call substitutes who can step in when needed for example during employee holiday unavailability or in case of illness. A great opportunity for students and those who wish to have a secondary source of income.


High level responsibilities:
- Maintaining health / self care with assistance to organize medications perform physiotherapy programs prepare and tidy up for personal hygiene needs providing dietary needs
- Maintaining the home environment with cleaning tidying organization and practical tasks on a daily basis. Light cooking and meal preparation as needed. Driving to doctors appointments school activities.
- Assisting in work activities such as assisting in the on-site art studio writing/typing taking photos and videos for making content documenting her journey.
Family first! As a mother her parental responsibilities comes first over all.

Post operative she will be in need of bedside care assistance standing sitting bathing. As she grows stronger the tasks will grow with her to regain her attendance in society.

Qualifications that are beneficial but are NOT mandatory are:
- previous experience as BPA
- proficient in Norwegian
- light meal preparation
- experience in working with elderly disabled or children
- translation dictating
- eligible for international to travel to the US

Mandatory requirements:
- good chemistry in the workplace
- proficient in English language
- references
- organization skills
- enjoys working in a family atmosphere/ working with children and animals drivers license

Work hours:

We are looking for an on-call subsitute that can be available for daytime/evenings and weekends hours can be agreed upon.
