The Senior Program Director Health Economics (MedTech) will be responsible for developing and deploying the strategy for programs services and technologies that improve access to structural heart treatment for patients in domestic and international arenas. This role will seek to partner with hospital stakeholders (physicians administrators executives quality) to improve operational financial and quality performance of structural heart programs. The role will partner with regional and functional stakeholders to identify opportunities for domestic and international health economics programs to drive value of the TAVR therapy and Edwards value proposition. The Sr. Director will oversee the team composition role definition recruiting development and retention of the Programs & Technologies team.

Work Schedule: Position location in Irvine CA preferred but not required.

How youll make an impact:

  • Develop and deploy the strategy for the programs services and technologies that improve access to structural heart treatment for patients in domestic and international arenas
  • Lead team and individual projects to partner with hospital stakeholders (physicians administrators executives quality) to improve operational financial and quality performance of structural heart programs
  • Partner with regional and functional stakeholders to identify opportunities for domestic and international health economics programs to drive the value of the TAVR therapy and the Edwards value proposition
  • Maintain the full portfolio of GHER-led programs inclusive of reach program scope(s) program budgets and impact scorecarding
  • Build and deploy program / project execution structure tool sets and guidelines to facilitate world class execution of initiatives by Programs & Technologies team; Identify success metrics for overall portfolio success
  • Oversee team composition role definition recruiting development and retention of the Programs & Technologies team ensuring the team is sufficiently skilled and prepared to deploy projects and programs
  • Build relationships with key internal and external stakeholders to facilitate execution and ensure support of programs / projects
  • Support / lead other or special project work as needed

What youll need (Required):

Bachelors Degree or Equivalent in in a life science health economics health policy or related field related experience or equivalent work experience based on Edwards criteria Required and skill levels exceeding the requirements of the Senior Manager or equivalent work experience based on Edwards criteria Required

Experience in one or more areas: health economics / market access health care environments project / program management

Demonstrated track record in people management required

Experience building programs tools or resources in or for real world hospital settings

Ability to drive alignment and lead projects without authority

Demonstrated success in cross-functional project management

Experience developing and deploying strategies

Domestic and / or international travel up to 25%

What else we look for (Preferred):

MBA or MPH

Working knowledge of health policy economics / reimbursement concepts (e.g. payment landscape)

Experience working in global markets

MedTech / Medical Device industry experience

Multi-functional experience

Experience working in or with structural heart programs in an operational / administrative capacity

Strong strategic thinking capability

Ability to build and deploy a program management team from recruitment to development and retention

Exceptional leadership capability including leadership with direct or indirect authority

Multidisciplinary skill set enabling broader perspectives

Ability to balance strategic thinking with intricate planning and strong tactical execution

Strong project management skill

Strong analytical skill

Proven expertise in Microsoft Office Suite and related tools and systems

Excellent documentation and communication skills

Aptitude for interpersonal relationship skills including negotiation and relationship management skills with ability to drive achievement of objectives

Ability to adapt to rapidly changing environment

For California (CA) the base pay range for this position is $209000 to $296000 (highly experienced).

The pay for the successful candidate will depend on various factors (e.g. qualifications education prior experience). Applications will be accepted while this position is posted on our Careers website.
