The Community Services teaching section at TAFE NSW Dubbo delivers nationally recognised vocational education and training (VET) programs that prepare students to work in roles supporting individuals families and communities. This section is closely aligned with Australias human services and social support sectors which are rapidly growing and highly regulated.

A Community Services TAFE Teacher plays a dual role as both an educator and industry mentor supporting students to meet qualification requirements while preparing them for emotionally demanding people-focused work.

About You

To be successful in the role you will:

  • Hold appropriate subject knowledge and skills and at minimum hold a Diploma or Degree in related Community Services disciplines and/or Ageing Disability Youth Work Counselling Mental Health Drug and Alcohol Work Homelessness and Housing or other relevant fieldwitha commitment tomaintaintechnical currency
  • Minimum of three years post-qualification experience in industry relevant to your qualifications gained no longer than five years previously.
  • Hold evidence of the required teaching qualification to deliver Vocational Education and Training (VET). See the candidate support document here for details.
  • Be prepared to develop and maintain your VET knowledge and skills as well as your industry currency and trainer/assessor competence.
