Job Summary
Family Medicine Physician
Position Summary
The Family Medicine Physician provides comprehensive continuous medical care to patients of all ages in an outpatient and/or inpatient setting depending on practice structure. This role focuses on preventive care diagnosis and treatment of acute and chronic conditions and long-term patient relationships across the lifespan.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive primary care to pediatric adult and geriatric patients
- Perform patient evaluations histories and physical examinations
- Diagnose and manage acute illnesses and chronic medical conditions
- Deliver preventive care services including health screenings and immunizations
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans
- Order interpret and document diagnostic tests and results
- Perform routine office-based procedures within scope of practice
- Coordinate care with specialists and ancillary services as needed
- Educate patients and families on disease prevention wellness and self-management
- Maintain timely accurate and compliant medical documentation
- Participate in quality improvement and patient safety initiatives
Practice Setting
- Outpatient clinic with optional inpatient or hospital rounding depending on practice model
- May include call coverage or extended hours as required
Qualifications
- MD or DO from an accredited medical school
- Completion of an accredited Family Medicine residency program
- Board certified or board eligible in Family Medicine
- Eligible for unrestricted medical licensure in the practicing state
- DEA registration or eligibility
