Salary Range: Hourly rate $24.98 - $36.96( pending certification/education/experience)

Unity Christian School located in the picturesque city of Chilliwack British Columbia is seeking a dedicated and passionate part-time English Language Learner Instructor for the 26/27 school year. As an integral member of our Educational Support Services team you will play a crucial role in fostering a Christ-centered welcoming and engaging learning environment for our students.

Unity Christian School has been blessed by the presence of international students and past students report that they have been enriched by their experience in our school community. The purpose of ELL services is to assist students to become proficient in English to develop students intellectually emotionally physically and spiritually to meet our Grad Profile and to achieve the expected learning outcomes and competencies of the provincial curriculum.

The English Language Learner (ELL) Instructor supports international students in developing their English language proficiency so they can thrive academically socially and spiritually within our school community. This role includes working one-on-one with students in the classroom collaborating with small groups for targeted instruction and partnering with classroom teachers to support differentiated learning strategies that meet individual student needs.

In addition to in-class support the ELL Instructor provides structured ELL instruction after school two days per week offering focused language development and reinforcement to help students build confidence and competence in reading writing speaking and listening.

Further the ELL Instructor also provides support to the International Program Coordinator in planning and facilitating events and activities that promote international student integration and cultural adaptation.

Preference will be given to:

• candidates with an EA certificate or equivalent training
• TESL and/or TOEFL certification
• TRB or Independent School Teacher Certification
• Appropriate Christian education training
