DescriptionIn accordance with the Vision Purpose and Values and strategic direction of the Vancouver Island Health Authority (Island Health) patient and staff safety is a priority and a responsibility shared by everyone; as such the requirement to continuously improve quality and safety is inherent in all aspects of this position.
Reporting to the Director Child & Family Rehabilitation Services (CFRS) the Program Coordinator is responsible for program operations and budget planning implementation directing and monitoring the quality of performance of the multidisciplinary team on a day-to-day basis. Evaluating the program in order to ensure delivery of a high quality service employee hiring supervision and performance management. Plans organizes and manages day-to-day operations.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education Training And Experience
A level of education training and experience equivalent to a Bachelors Degree in a related health discipline and five (5) years experience with service in program specific or paediatric rehabilitation that includes management experience and post basic education in supervision and/or management. Masters degree preferred.
Skills And Abilities
- Demonstrated ability to manage and develop a productive multidisciplinary team.
- Ability to develop and implement service delivery systems.
- Thorough knowledge of multidisciplinary team approaches for coordination of care in a complex environment and system of care services.
- Strong leadership and people management skills with the ability to motivate and delegate
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to find creative solutions to problems and to develop alternative strategies to support quality improvement initiatives in a dynamic work environment.
- Strong planning critical thinking and analytical skills.
- Computer proficiency in areas such as patient information electronic scheduling systems and office suite software such as e-mail and spreadsheets.
